Here are top picks for things to do in Tucson this weekend:
St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 12th at the Tucson Convention Center. Following the parade there will be lots of games, activities & fun for the entire family. The event is free and it starts at 10:00am. Visit the Tucson Irish Community for more information. http://tucsonirishcommunity.com
5th Annual Fiesta de Saguaro at Saguaro National Park East. This is always a great event - and if you plan right - you can run, walk or ride the 8 mile loop and then finish by celebrating Southern Arizona's Hispanic heritage and culture. Enjoy folkloric dancers, a mariachi band, children's activity area with traditional Mexican crafts and piñata breaking, exhibits and craft demonstrations, food vendors, lots of freshly made tortillas! The even is free and starts at 10:00am this Saturday, March 12th.
Oro Valley Classic Car Show is also on Saturday, March 12. Tucson car enthusiasts bring out their best antique, muscle, classic cars and trucks in hopes of winning an award! While looking at the cars, you will be treated to DJ music of oldies, a live rock and roll band, kids can enjoy the jumping castles and arts and craft activities. The event is from 10am until 3pm at the Oro Valley Marketplace. http://www.ovcarshow.org
Sunrise at Old Tucson Cross Country Trail 4M & 1M Run, Sunday, March 13th at 8:00am at Old Tucson Studios. With your entry fee you'll receive a free t-shirt, passes for free entry into three of Tucson's main attractions, a free pair of sunglasses, refreshments and a free breakfast following the run. Lots of prizes will be given out, so don't forget to come dressed in your best western outfit -- and for kids - there will be lots of costume prizes, awards and fun!
